on 6 March 2012 Kernarchitecten is host to a seminar on ‘open BIM’, organised by Kubus Architectural Solutions BV. Kernarchitecten was an early adaptor in the application of CAD in 1988 and has developed into a leading practice in the use of Building Information Modeling. After replacing our previous CAD system with state-of-the-art BIM software (Archicad) in 2004 for the entire workflow from design to construction drawings, we have designed and engineered all of our projects in full 3D since 2008. As other parties join the BIM community, there is an increasing exchange of information with them through ‘open-BIM’ which is without doubt the future for co-operation in the entire construction industry. And Kernarchitecten is ready for that future! So it is no coincidence that Kubus asked us if they might use our ‘Moutfabriek Limburgia’ as the venue for their seminar on ‘open BIM’, to share our vision on BIM and to present examples of our way of working with BIM to the participants.
